Little Hens is a private Nursery owned by Jeanette Fenn and Hannah Underwood. Little Hens cares for babies 0- months to 2 1/2 years. Giving them the best start to life.
Our vision for the Nursery is Family. Family can mean many different things to people, for us it’s belonging, building relationships and having fun together.
We work hard to create a Nursery where every child, parent and team member feel like they belong to a family-from-family. This includes building strong relationships where everyone is known and celebrate them as an individual, with all their interests. We start each day with excitement and leave with a huge smile on our face!
We firmly believe in aspiring to be better and aiming for excellence in everything we do, constantly seeking to do the very best with what we have.
All of our staff have undergone DBS and safeguarding training. It is our duty to make sure all staff complete extra courses as well. Our team are chosen for their love to children and wanting to give them the best start in life by giving the babies and children learning and development opportunities.

Funding
Many children of working parents aged 9 months and over are entitled to 30 free hours of childcare a week for 38 weeks a year, or 22.8 hours a week over 50 weeks. Your child will become eligible the term following turning 9 months. For more information and to check your eligibility visit beststartinlife.gov.uk.
To claim your free hours code please visit https://www.gov.uk/free-childcare-if-working/apply-for-free-childcare-if-youre-working before your child turns 9 months. You will need to refresh this code every 3 months to ensure you are still eligible to receive the funding and will get email prompts to do this from HMRC.
